A 13-year-old Arapahoe County girl escaped the grip of a man who grabbed her arm as she walked to a bus stop early today in a possible kidnap attempt.
The girl was walking from her home to the bus stop in the 8100 block of South Mobile Way when a man driving a white car stopped beside her and told her to get in, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. When she refused, he jumped out of the vehicle and grabbed her arm. She pulled away from him and ran home.
The man is described as white, in his mid-30s, with mid-length dark hair and wearing a T-shirt.
The girl is not being identified because of her age.
Sheriff’s deputies are canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses. Extra patrol cars are in the area looking for any motorist who matches the suspect’s description, said Capt. Brice Moomaw.
