DENVER—Hoehne ended Simla’s perfect season Saturday night and claimed its second straight Class 2A volleyball championship in the process.

The third-seeded Farmers (29-1), from extreme south-central Colorado, took the match to the distance, winning in five games (25-14, 16-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-13).

“The harder they can have it, the better they perform,” said coach Kathy Neve. “They thrive in adversity.”

Simla (29-1), the No. 1 seed, played in its first championship match since losing to Fowler 1997. The southern Colorado school won titles in 1994 and ’96.
