Getting your player ready...
It was the kind of luck that always seems to come before the start of a tournament or, perhaps, simply a woman’s touch.
Whatever the cause, the 31 1/2-inch, 13-pound walleye that Rae Johnson caught while fishing with her husband, Tom, on July 22 at Lake Wabigoon outside Dryden, Ontario, ranks as a prize for the ages. The Professional Walleye Tour event in which Tom was entered started the following day.
Tom, a PWT regular, went on to finish 19th in the event, landing a 27-incher along the way.
The photo wasn’t made available until now because it was the property of In-Fisherman’s Walleye In-Sider Magazine, which published it on its current cover.
