Aside from the excessive rouge, you and the talking heads on television aren’t different.
You both study statistics all week and try to predict the booms and busts. When you’re wrong, however, you have to hear about it all week.
Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew against the Titans? No way. That’s the No. 1 rushing defense in the NFL and Jones-Drew hasn’t carried the ball more than 15 times in a game all season.
Jones-Drew gets 19 carries, 101 yards and a touchdown.
How about Packers RB Ryan Grant against Minnesota, the No. 2 rushing defense? How about 25 carries, 119 yards and a touchdown?
The list goes on for Week 10.
Anquan Boldin facing a 30th-ranked Lions pass defense? Three catches for 25 yards. Carson Palmer against a depleted Ravens secondary? How about zero touchdowns and seven field goals by Shayne Graham?
Adrian Peterson, anyone?
Sigh.
Beating yourself up yet? Maybe it’s time to break out the rouge.
