DENVER—Gov. Bill Ritter is leaving for Canada on a three-day economic-development visit that includes stops in Calgary, Toronto and Edmonton.
Ritter and Don Elliman, his economic development director, and others depart from Denver International Airport Monday afternoon.
Ritter says the trip will focus on energy and bioscience industries.
Colorado exported more than $1.8 billion in manufactured and agricultural goods to Canada last year.
Overall, trade between Colorado and Canada amounted to nearly $3.5 billion in 2006.
Ritter’s office says Colorado-Canada trade supported 93,000 jobs in the state last year.
