A day later, Andrew Brunette was back on skates and good to go for the Avalanche.
Brunette, the Avs’ versatile winger, took a nasty spill at Wednesday’s practice and appeared to favor his left leg some while walking to the dressing room. But Brunette, while acknowledging he was a bit nervous at first after crashing into the boards from losing an edge, practiced today and said he feels good.
In other Avs news:
Jose Theodore will start in goal Friday against Dallas.
Karlis Skrastins is healthy but won’t return to the lineup yet against the Stars. He might play later in the Avs’ upcoming four-game road trip.
Avs general manager Francois Giguere, on Theodore’s play, and the outcry over the summer from Avs fans to buy out the last year of his contract, said: “I saw the kind of work he put in over the summer. That kind of made my decision for me. He worked very hard last year and was a good influence on his teammates. He has continued to work hard on his game, and with the help of (Avs goalie coach) Jeff Hackett, I think he’s feeling good.”
