DENVER—Denver Nuggets backup center Steven Hunter was scheduled for arthroscopic surgery Friday on his right knee.
Mark Warkentien, Nuggets vice president of basketball operations, said Thursday that Hunter, who is suffering from inflammation of the knee, will be operated on by team physician Steve Traina.
Warkentien said a timetable for Hunter’s return will be determined after the operation.
The Nuggets acquired Hunter from Philadelphia this year in a trade that sent forward Reggie Evans to the 76ers.
Hunter has averaged 0.8 points and 1.3 rebounds per game in four games for the Nuggets this season.
