LARAMIE — Justyna Podziemska scored 20 points and Jodi Bolerjack added 14 to help Wyoming to a 56-44 victory over Kansas State on Thursday night.

Bolerjack was 10-of-10 from the free-throw line, and Pod- ziemska had four 3-pointers. Hanna Zavecz added 10 points and had four assists for the Cowgirls (2-0).

Wyoming led 20-15 at the break and opened the second half with a 9-2 run to go ahead 29-17 with 14:42 remaining.

The Wildcats (2-1) pulled within 32-30 with 10:55 remaining, but Podziemska and Bolerjack combined for 23 of Wyoming’s final 24 points to seal the win.

In men’s games:

  • Joey Dorsey, who missed the first two games of the season with a shoulder injury, came back in a big way for No. 3 Memphis, finishing with nine points, 12 rebounds and five blocks in the Tigers’ 63-53 victory over Oklahoma in New York.
  • Brandon Rush made a successful early return from ACL surgery, scoring seven points and giving No. 4 Kansas a lift in a 92-60 rout of Division II Washburn.
  • With tough defense and a balanced offense paced by 12 points apiece from Roy Hibbert and Jessie Sapp, No. 5 Georgetown raced out to a big lead and was never challenged in a 74-52 victory over Michigan.
  • Patrick Beverley had 16 points and seven rebounds to help No. 18 Arkansas beat College of Charleston 75-49 in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
  • Sam Young gave Mississippi Valley State plenty of problems at both ends of the floor, scoring 17 points and starting numerous fast breaks with his 12 rebounds in No. 19 Pittsburgh’s 78-45 win.
