Face facts. Not everyone wants a zipper wader, not even the absolutely waterproof G4 model that Simms brought to market last year amid a buzz seldom found around a product not directly involved in catching fish.
So the Bozeman, Mont., company this season delivered the same wader – rugged design, all the other whistles and bells – but minus the zipper and a hefty chunk of the price tag. This 2008 model sells for $499, $200 less than with the zipper. It features five- and three-layered Gore-Tex construction, 4mm stockingfoot, waterproof zippered hand warmer, chest pockets, fitted leg design and less leg seam abrasion.
