COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Jared Bunde of Brooklyn, N.Y., has been suspended from the sport of cycling for two years after testing positive for a prohibited substance.

Bunde, 31, tested positive for clomiphene July 28 at the Point Premium Root Beer International Cycling Classic, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency said Tuesday.

Agency officials said clomiphene is an anti-estrogenic substance that is prohibited under the rules of USADA and the Union Cycliste Internationale, the international federation for the sport of cycling.

Bunde accepted the suspension Oct. 15, the start of his two-year ineligibility. His competitive results earned on and after July 28 are disqualified and he forfeits any medals, points and prizes, USADA said.

USA Cycling, the national governing body for the sport in the United States, will carry out the sanction.
