Denver police arrested a man on a drug charge over the weekend who was wanted for investigation of first-degree attempted murder.
Shannon L. Spicer was arrested Saturday for investigation of drug possession, said Sonny Jackson, Denver police spokesman.
Denver police spotted Spicer on Martin Luther King Boulevard at 3:30 a.m. and tried to pull him over for not having a front license plate, Jackson said.
Spicer stopped near 38th Avenue and Monaco Parkway, got out of his car and started running, Jackson said.
“He did try to resist arrest,” he said.
When Spicer was caught he was charged with drug possession. Police learned that he had a warrant for his arrest, Jackson said.
Spicer was wanted in a Sept. 21 attempted murder at 14155 E. Montview Blvd., said Shannon Lucy, Aurora police spokeswoman.
