Eastbound I-70 was closed temporarly at mile marker 244 tonight after a semi-truck jackknifed near the Evergreen Parkway exit, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The truck lost control at about 8:40 p.m., said Trooper Gilbert Maris , and there are no injuries to the accident.

Several other vehicles had also slid off the highway, Maris said, which was slowing traffic prior to the semi-truck accident.

The highway was beginning to get slick because of the cold, snowy weather rolling in, Maris said, and the truck driver and the other drivers who had gotten stuck were traveling too fast for the conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, there is an 80 percent chance of snow in the Denver-metro area tonight with a 70 percent chance tomorrow morning.

The foothills can expect two to four inches of snow accumulating throughout tonight and one to two inches Wednesday.
