Getting your player ready...

Treat-filled doggie toys are indispensable sitters that keep pets entertained for hours. But getting them clean and germ-free can give an animal owner a headache.

Whatever dogs aren’t able to maneuver out of their Kong or other snack-dispensing toy ends up a sticky, stuck-on mess. Cleaning them is such a hassle that some owners skip using the toys as often as they might like.

Enter the Bamboo Toy Cleaning Brush.

The two-in-one tool has brushes that squeeze into pet-toy crevices where the remains of peanut-buttery, chicken-broth-soaked munchies decay into mold and germs.

The brush is available in two sizes. It has strong red bristles to clean outer surfaces and inner cavities. It’s shaped like a bottle brush — wider at the bottom than the top. And hidden inside the handle is another tiny removable brush that’s great for smaller toys.

When the job is done, a suction-cup at the base of the handle allows the brush to stand upright for air-drying. Just stick that baby in the top rack of the dishwasher, run it with the rest of your dishes, and ta-dah! It is sanitized.

Plus, the cute little white bones on the handle of the brush aren’t just there for decoration. They’re cushioned and make for a nonslip grip.

My only gripe about Bamboo Toy Brush: Water, soap and gunk spit out of the toy when you remove it from the toy. I had to turn the toy upside down, with the opening facing downward, and gently pull out the brush to prevent a second goop shower.

The Bamboo Toy Cleaning Brush is about $9 at pet stores, and .
