On Sunday morning, November 18, 2007, officers from the Sand Creek Division responded to the 900 block of North Murray Boulevard concerning the report of a man down. Officers arrived and discovered an unconscious adult male lying on the ground in the area of the Superior Village apartment complex (930 North Murray Boulevard). The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment. The victim, previously identified as Geraldo Contreras Tovar, has been in critical condition since the assault.The investigation has determined that several individuals were involved in a fight in the parking lot of the Cantina Studio 719 located at 923 North Murray. The fight spilled over to the west side of Murray Boulevard, and it was at that point that the victim was struck in the head with an object of some type. This afternoon, an Arrest Warrant was obtained for Elias Cordova for Criminal Attempt First Degree Murder, a Class Two Felony.  Bond has been set in the amount of $1,000,000.  As the investigation continues, other participants in the fight may be identified and additional arrests could be possible.Elias Cordova is described as a Hispanic male, 25 years old, 5Õ8Ó tall, brown hair and brown eyes.  His whereabouts at this time are unknown.  The Colorado Springs Police Department is asking assistance from anyone who may information regarding the location of Elias Cordova.  Anyone with information may contact the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000 or they may remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

COLORADO SPRINGS — Police are seeking a suspect they say severely beat a man early Sunday.

An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for Elias Cordova, 25, on charges of attempted first-degree murder.

His whereabouts are unknown.

Police say Cordova and Geraldo Contreras Tovar got into a fight early Sunday with several people at Cantina Studio 719, at 923 N. Murray Blvd.

The fight continued in the bar’s parking lot.

When officers arrived, they found Tovar on the ground unconscious.

He had been hit on the head and has been in critical condition ever since.

Police say that other participants in the fight may be identified and that additional arrests are possible.
