Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points and Kenyon Martin had a season-high 18 to lift the Nuggets to a 99-93 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night at the Pepsi Center.

The Nuggets have won seven of their past eight games, including five in a row at home.

The Timberwolves are still searching for their first road win, falling to 0-4 away from home. They have also dropped four straight contests.

Minnesota led 87-84 with 2:59 remaining on a 3-pointer by Ryan Gomes, but the Nuggets went on a 10-0 run to take control of the game.

Martin gave Denver the lead for good at 88-87 on two free throws with 1:49 left.

Marcus Camby finished with 18 rebounds and 10 points, including a thunderous dunk on Anthony’s missed shot with 46.9 seconds left.

Allen Iverson added 13 points and 10 assists.

Antoine Walker came off the bench to score 24 points for Minnesota. Gomes finished with 18, and Al Jefferson had 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Anthony has scored 20 or more points in 12 of the Nuggets’ 13 games this season.

The Timberwolves led by as many as 12 points in the first half. The Nuggets went on a 9-2 run to trim the deficit to 56-51 at halftime.

Iverson hurt his right leg after he collided with Marko Jaric’s knee on a loose ball in the second quarter. However, Iverson shook off the injury and remained in the game. He played more than 40 minutes.

Nuggets guard Anthony Carter made his season debut, coming off the bench to score nine points in almost 22 minutes of action. He has been out with a fractured right hand that he injured in early October.

Mark Madsen was in the starting lineup Friday night for the Timberwolves, his first start since Feb. 15, 2006, against Seattle. He finished with two points and four rebounds.

Madsen played in his first game of the season Wednesday night after having surgery in August to repair a pectoral muscle.
