Junior Chef Tuesdays at Pizza Carlo, Copper Junction at Copper Mountain Resort; 970-968-3112
Top it off. Starting in December, every Tuesday evening, kids get to help with the cooking at this pizza bistro. Staff cooks provide the dough, and kids choose the toppings — from the restaurant’s prepared ingredients; so Cap’n Crunch/peanut butter/pepperoni pizza is not an option — for their family’s meal. Reservations required. Kids In the Kitchen is part of a special Pizza Carlo dinner package deal; call to ask about prices.

“Do You See What I See?” ($14.95) and “Maria’s Mysterious Mission” ($12.95) picture books by Claudia Cangilla McAdam and John Fielder, Westcliffe Publishers
Seeing Things Get a sense of how celebrated Colorado photographer John Fielder perceives the micro and the macro in “Do You See What I See,” in which cut-outs and Claudia Cangilla McAdam’s teasing rhymes suggest possible alternatives to the naturescapes revealed by turning the page. “Maria’s Mysterious Mission” is from the vantage point of a puzzled llama enlisted to tote Fielder’s bags on a mountain trek. The layout ambitiously works to blend Anna-Maria Crum’s homespun illustrations with Fielder’s luminous photographs.
Meany happy returns
Meet The Grinch, 6:30 p.m. Friday at the LoDo Tattered Cover Bookstore, 1628 16th St., Denver; 303-436-9219, ext. 2737
AARP Card for Mr. Grinch. This year is the 50th anniversary for the wizened green burglar made famous in the Dr. Seuss classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Meet the Grinch, but don’t expect to hear any familiar lines from the book or the movie. He’s taken a vow of silence.
