FORT COLLINS — Sara Cain led four Creighton players with 10 or more points and the Bluejays routed Colorado State to win the Rocky Mountain Invitational tournament title at Moby Arena.
Colorado State (1-5) led just once — 4-3 in the early going. Elle Queen led the Rams with 11 points.
Creighton (4-1) also got 11 points from Sam Schuett and earned its first road win of the season.
The Bluejays hit seven of their first 10 3-point attempts to build a 12- point lead at 21-9 midway through the first half.
After Creighton scored to open the second half, Colorado State rallied with a 12-4 run to cut the lead to 43-40. But with more than 12 minutes remaining, Creighton wen on a 24-2 run to extend its lead to 28 points.
