MOUNTAINAIR, N.M. — The number of firefighters working on a wildfire burning in a rugged area of the Manzano Mountains has been reduced to 30 from 148 as of Sunday.

The 6,969-acre Ojo Peak fire destroyed three homes and some outbuildings, and people in 75 to 100 homes in the villages of Manzano and Punta del Agua and on area ranches were evacuated last week.
