Victoria Turnipseed-Henderson is a senior in the International Baccalaureate program at George Washington High School in Denver.

She is the student-body president and has a 3.8 grade-point average.

Victoria has been involved in varsity cheerleading and volleyball. She is a board member of the International Baccalaureate Black Organization.

Along with her school activities, Victoria has spent time volunteering as a cheerleading coach for the Green Valley Giants Organization, with Food Bank of the Rockies and for John Amesse Elementary School and Volunteers of America.

Victoria has received awards and honors as a Ventures Scholar and a Links Tribute to Black Youth Honoree and is a two-time Mile High Scholar. She is listed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students.

Each week, The Denver Post honors an outstanding youth for his or her accomplishments.
