Denver’s weather should be pleasant today, with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid-50s, according to the National Weather Service, but snow could fall in the mountains tonight.

After a high temperature near 40 today in Vail it’s likely the ski resort town will see snow tonight, the weather service said.

Vail has a 40 percent chance of snow on Wednesday and 20 percent chance of snow on Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, in Denver, Wednesday should be cold with the high temperature climbing just above freezing to about 34 degrees.

Tonight’s low in Denver should be in the upper teens and Wednesday’s overnight low in the city could drop to 11 degrees, the weather service said.

Denver shouldn’t see any snow until Friday night, the weather service said, and a slight chance for flakes remain in the city’s forecast through the weekend.
