Jeremy Vasquez, a 16-year-old boy shot Nov. 5 during a teen domestic-violence incident in Colorado Springs, has improved to fair condition.
The boy’s family issued a statement today thanking doctors, nurses and staff at Denver Health Medical Center for providing “outstanding care for Jeremy.”
The family also thanked the Colorado Springs community for “all the love and support they have shown.”
Andrew Brown, 17, who was distraught over breaking up with his girlfriend, shot Vasquez and then shot and killed Michael Fisher, 18, after a car chase. Brown then committed suicide.
A victim’s fund for Vasquez has been established at all ENT Federal Credit Union locations in Colorado Springs.
