Today and Saturday.Pop music. There’s never been a better time to be a music fan in Denver, and now we can add one more rock club to the list. The Falcon opens this weekend as the most unusual live-music room in town. Sitting a few doors down from the Gothic Theatre on South Broadway in Englewood, the venue offers bowling, billiards, video games, pinball and food in addition to its 250-capacity venue. Good news for rock fans. And bands. The venue, at 3295 S. Broadway, opens tonight with San Diego’s Dirty Sweet and locals Cowboy Curse. Saturday’s show will feature the Ryan Montbleau Band. Saturday. Benefit. Even if you’ve seen Denver mainstay Lannie Garrett perform before — and chances are you have, considering her local-legend status — you may never have seen her like this. The diva behind Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret will present her Platforms & Polyester Disco Revue as part of the World AIDS Day concert at the Fox Theatre in Boulder. Her band shifts into dance party mode to play classic Motown, funk and disco hits, with proceeds benefiting the Boulder County AIDS Project. Saturday. 8 p.m. $22-$50. 303-443-3399 or . John Wenzel

Saturday.Vocal music. As a look at the top of many Christmas trees makes clear, angels are a much-loved symbol of the yuletide. Tapestry, a touring four-woman a cappella ensemble, pays tribute to the celestial inhabitants with an offbeat, intriguing concert titled “In the Company of Angels.” The Newman Center Presents program, which ranges from 16th-century Spanish songs to works of today, will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the University of Denver’s Newman Center for the Performing Arts, 2344 E. Iliff Ave. Tickets are $25-$49. 303-357-2787 or . Kyle MacMillan

Sunday.Holiday music. The Aries Brass Quintet, a longtime fixture on the Denver music scene, will present its annual holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Bethany Lutheran Church, 4500 E. Hampden Ave. The program, titled “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” will consist of familiar carols arranged for brass — instruments traditionally associated with the Christmas season. The program is free, but donations will be accepted. Come early for best seating. 303-832-4676 or . Kyle MacMillan
