Denver police have for a second time arrested a 42-year-old woman for prostituting herself while knowing she has AIDS.
Frances Woodke was arrested Saturday at her home in the 4400 block of Morrison Road, police said.
Vice and narcotics officers got information that Woodke was re-offending after she had already served three years in prison for attempted prostitution with knowledge of AIDS, Denver district attorney’s spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough said.
Woodke pleaded guilty in 2000 to similar charges, but failed to follow the conditions of probation and was eventually sentenced to three years in prison.
Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said Woodke has “a long history of prostitution.”
Woodke is being held in the Denver jail in lieu of $75,000 bail and is set to appear in court Thursday.
