Nate Jackson, long gone with a season-ending injury, has more touchdown catches than Javon Walker. So do Cecil Sapp and Daniel Graham.

Which isn’t to say any of those three have caught a bunch of touchdown passes. In fact, they have one apiece.

The point is, Walker, the Broncos’ best big-play receiver when healthy, has none.

With Walker struggling on a shaky knee, the Broncos have had to adjust on the fly. Brandon Stokley, who was supposed to add depth to the receiving corps, has become a go-to guy for Jay Cutler. And Brandon Marshall has emerged as a star-in-the-making.

Marshall and Stokley lead the team with four touchdown catches, and tight end Tony Scheffler has three. It isn’t what Mike Shanahan and the coaches drew up during training camp, but that’s the way things have played out.

At least Cutler has three viable touchdown threats. In today’s NFL, you have to spread the ball around. And if Walker can ever get healthy, Cutler would have even more options.
