The University of Wyoming athletics department announced Thursday it has reached its $16 million fundraising goal — and with the state legislature’s matching-fund program — will have $32 million available for facility enhancements.
“We couldn’t be more excited nor more grateful for the outpouring of support from donors and the state legislature in making this possible,” athletic director Tom Burman said. “The generosity of the alumni and friends of the University of Wyoming is phenomenal.”
A total of 110 donors contributed at least $25,000, the minimum required for the state’s match to kick in.
Facility improvements already made include the new artificial turf and upgrades to the upper concourse at War Memorial Stadium, a new indoor practice facility and a new complex for track and soccer.
