That sound you just heard from Dove Valley wasn’t a sound at all. It was silence. The Broncos are hoping it wasn’t a calm before the storm, too.

For several weeks now, the Broncos have waited and wondered while the league office pondered the fate of Travis Henry. An official announcement could come today, but as we speak the waiting and wondering continues.

Know this about the Henry situation: If he’s banned for a year after allegedly testing positive again for marijuana, the Broncos’ running game won’t be the same.

Selvin Young? Andre Hall? Each has stepped into a difficult situation and produced. But do you really believe they can continue to produce long term at the rate Henry has throughout his career? It’s difficult to envision, to say the least.

No, the best scenario for the Broncos is an announcement that the league isn’t going to suspend Henry. Then the issue would become, is he ever going to get healthy?
