PUEBLO, Colo.—Eric Hall scored 25 points and Dylan Grimsley added 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead undefeated South Dakota to an 86-66 win over Colorado State-Pueblo on Saturday.
With the win, the Coyotes improved to 7-0 for the fifth time in the last 10 years, while the ThunderWolves dropped to 2-5.
South Dakota jumped out to an 11-1 lead and led by at least six points after the 13:45 mark of the first half. The Coyotes stretched that lead to double digits late in the first half and kept it in double figures the rest of the game.
The Coyotes were 17-for-32 from 3-point range. Hall had seven 3-pointers and Grimsley added five. Hall also grabbed six rebounds, helping the Coyotes to a 36-29 rebounding edge. USD shot 51 percent from the field.
Mitch Begeman had 13 points off the bench for USD.
Jake Trahern and Chris Childress led the ThunderWolves with 14 points apiece. Ty McTyer added 12 points.
CSU-Pueblo shot 38 percent from the field and 27 percent from 3-point range.
