COMMERCE CITY — Divers pulled the body of a 19-year-old woman from a lake at Buffalo Run Golf Course this morning.
Neighbors living nearby saw two dogs and went out to investigate. They saw the woman’s body and called for help, said Commerce City Police Lt. Chuck Saunier.
Dive teams responded and recovered a body from 24 feet of water.
A helicopter was called to the golf course and took the woman to Denver Health Medical Center. Resuscitation efforts failed, and she was pronounced dead.
Police identified her as Laura Mae Wallace of Thornton.
The two dogs were rescued and are with family members.
