The Central Colorado Avalanche Information line is up and running for its third consecutive year, with backcountry snowpack information available by calling 719-395-4994 anytime throughout the winter. The Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) Summit County office routinely updates backcountry conditions and avalanche reports during the early-morning hours on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The CAIC Boulder office updates the hotline on conditions in its region as conditions warrant. The hotline is underwritten as a public service by The Trailhead at 707 Hwy. 24 North in Buena Vista (www.thetrailheadco.com).
