BOULDER, Colo.—Four University of Colorado employees were taken to a hospital for precautionary examinations Monday, after housing and dining employees at a dormitory reported they were exposed to fumes that irritated their eyes, throats and noses.

All the employees have been released from the hospital.

The source of the fumes was not immediately known.

Kittredge Commons was evacuated and the dining room, kitchen and offices on its first floor were closed for about two hours around noon while air tests were conducted.

The tests did not immediately reveal anything unusual.
