GOLDEN — One of the teens charged after a March 13 fatal crash in Lakewood entered a guilty plea today.

Alison Paige Bowen, 16, pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to influence a public servant and one count of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Bowen, who will be sentenced Jan. 11, was one of six people charged in the two-car collision at West Alameda Parkway and West Florida Drive.

The Ford Explorer in which Bowen was a passenger crossed a double-yellow median on West Alameda and slammed head-on into a Honda Accord driven by Seth Mutschler, 20. He was severely injured but survived. His passenger, Samara Stricklen, 17, was killed.

In June, a Jefferson County grand jury indicted Nanette LaFleur, 17, who police said was the driver, and liquor-store clerk Van Thien Pham, 44.

Immediately after the crash, the indictment said, LaFleur asked Bowen, whose parents owned the vehicle, to get into the driver’s seat and LaFleur got out.

Bowen was in the driver’s seat and told police she was the driver, the indictment states.

LaFleur was indicted on nine counts, including vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and attempt to influence a public servant. She has a status conference scheduled Jan. 2.

Pham was indicted on 10 counts of unlawfully providing alcohol to a minor. He worked at Alameda Square Discount Liquors and is accused of selling alcohol to the teens charged in this fatality as well as to several other underage teens. Pham has a status conference Jan. 8.

Three other juveniles were charged as minors illegally in possession of alcohol in this case. One of the teens pleaded guilty and was sentenced to up to two years of probation. The other cases are pending.
