Denver International Airport has reached a deal to take over the WorldPort cargo development on its land for $4 million.

DIA reached a real-estate surrender-and-purchase agreement with J.P. Morgan Inc., owner of WorldPort, to buy leasehold interests.

WorldPort’s groundbreaking was in 2000, when it was envisioned as a project worth up to $100 million to serve as a leading regional air-cargo hub, but strong demand did not materialize.
