Frontier Airlines’ Lynx Aviation turboprop subsidiary has received full federal authority to begin operations and plans to start flying today.
The Department of Transportation said it received notification of authority for Lynx from the Federal Aviation Administration and granted authority for Lynx on Thursday morning, “so they are now able to operate,” said Department of Transportation spokesman Bill Mosley.
Lynx will fly Q400 turboprops from Denver to Rapid City, S.D.; Sioux City, Iowa; Wichita; Billings, Mont.; Albuquerque; and Tulsa, Okla. It also eventually plans to fly the Q400s to mountain resorts.
