FORT COLLINS — The preliminary forecast by Colorado State University for the 2008 hurricane season calls for 13 Atlantic hurricanes — seven above average with three major storms.
The CSU forecast team issued the prediction Friday, six months before the June-November season begins.
There is a 60 percent chance at least one major hurricane will hit the U.S. coastline, compared with an average probability of 52 percent.
