American Airlines announced it will begin flying between Grand Junction Regional Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport twice daily starting April 7.

The flights will be operated by American’s regional affiliate American Eagle on 50-seat Embraer ERJ-140 jets.

Officials said the new flights would create jobs and stimulate economic growth across the Western Slope.
