The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League re-signed transition player Josh Sims and goaltender Gee Nash and traded forward Matt Taylor to the Toronto Rock, general manager Steve Govett said.
Sims, the Mammoth’s all-time leader with 548 loose balls, has been with the franchise since 2001 when the team played in Washington, D.C. His 19 goals and 20 assists last season were career highs.
Sims signed a three-year contract.
“Josh is known as one of the fastest players in the league, but he also has a knack for scoring goals and the talent to change the game in one play,” Govett said.
Nash has been a mainstay in goal for the Mammoth since 2004. His nine wins last season ranked second in the NLL. He signed a one-year contract.
Taylor, who played in four games last season, was traded for a fourth-round pick in the 2008 draft.
