Xcel Energy’s residential electric customers will see a slight decrease in their bills if regulators approve the utility’s latest rate-change requests.
An average residential customer using about 625-kilowatt hours per month would see a decrease of 16 cents to $55.88 per month. Customers enrolled in Xcel’s Windsource program, however, will have to pay an extra $2.09 per 100 kilowatt-hour block of power above the cost of traditional fossil-fuel based power generation. If approved, the changes would take effect Jan. 1.
