COLORADO SPRINGS — The former head cashier of Colorado Springs Utilities has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling $435,000 over four years.
Donna M. Inzer, 69, was arrested Thursday for investigation of theft, said Lt. Skip Arms, Colorado Springs police spokesman.
The city audited the utility’s accounts in February after a customer complained about getting a disconnect notice after paying the bill.
Inzer allegedly took the money from December 2003 to Feb. 6 by altering daily cash summaries submitted to her by cashiers, Arms said.
