BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder County authorities are investigating the cause of a blaze that may have killed a man in a semitrailer.

Sheriff’s department Detective Eric Simpson says fire and police crews responded to a report of smoke coming from a semitrailer about 11:15 p.m. Thursday. The body of a white male was discovered inside the trailer once the fire had been extinguished.

Authorities say the man appeared to have been living in a trailer used to store property, and that he was using a portable heater to stay warm.

Simpson says accidental ignition is being looked at as a possible cause of the blaze.

The victim’s name has not been released.
