A fire broke out in a high-rise apartment building near the state Capitol this afternoon, briefly trapping several residents.
Firefighters arrived at 1075 Washington St. just before 4 p.m., today, and doused flames that destroyed a second-floor apartment. Early reports said the people who were trapped were rescued quickly. Their conditions are unknown.
The fire was put out within 10 minutes. The extent of damage to the building is unknown.
