DENVER—A light rail line whose service was disrupted after a coal train derailed on a parallel track should be running again Monday morning, the Regional Transportation District said.

RTD was planning to work through the weekend to repair the commuter line.

The line was damaged early Tuesday, when a southbound Union Pacific coal train derailed and dumped coal onto the light rail tracks. A northbound light rail train derailed when it ran over the debris, then struck the freight train, but no injuries were reported.
