LOS ANGELES — Peter Budaj will get his third straight start in net for the Avalanche tonight at the Staples Center against the Los Angeles Kings.
Budaj has won his past two starts, both against Nashville.
The Avs skated this morning at the mammoth arena, while the Kings skated at their practice facility in El Segundo.
Healthy scratches for the Avs tonight are slated to be forwards Scott Parker and Cody McLeod, who joined the team last night after being summoned from Lake Erie of the AHL.
The Avs will again use seven defensemen, as they have the past two games.
Avs forward Ian Laperriere, a former King, knows tonight’s contest won’t be easy, even though the Kings are in last place in the Pacific Division.
“They’re always dangerous at home, and they have some good young players,” Laperriere said. “It’s going to be a real tough game, so we have to make sure we are ready at the start.”
