After Jeannie Ritter repeatedly requested this recipe, her neighbor Sharon DeBoyes sent it with this note in the bottom corner: “Ask me again and you’re a dead woman.” Serves 14-18.

Ingredients


 1 cup brown sugar

    2/3 cup butter

    1/2 cup nuts

 2 tablespoons water

 1 teaspoon cinnamon

    Dash nutmeg

 2 tubes Pillsbury refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In a medium pan, heat brown sugar, butter, nuts, water, cinnamon and nutmeg until butter melts. Remove from heat.

Quarter each biscuit and add to pan, stirring to coat.

Place in a greased 2- or 3-quart bread, cake or brownie pan. Bake 25 minutes.
