DENVER—Light rail service is up and running again on a southwest Denver line after service was disrupted by a coal train that derailed on a parallel track last week.

The Regional Transportation District line was damaged early on December 4th when the freight train derailed and dumped coal onto the light rail tracks. A light rail train derailed when it ran over the debris, then struck the freight train. No one was hurt.

RTD crews worked through the weekend to repair the track in time for the Monday morning commute.
