A man has been formally charged with a Nov. 4 shooting outside a LoDo nightclub that wounded six and killed one.
Anthony Chavez, 25, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Theodore Padilla, 25.
The gunman fired on a crowd on the sidewalk outside the Hush nightclub at Blake and Market streets at closing time.
Police said the shooting began with a confrontation inside earlier in the night.
Padilla had recognized some in the group of men linked to the gunman inside the club as former classmates at Denver West High School, a cousin of his said after the shooting.
Family members have speculated that two expensive gold chains Padilla was wearing may have spurred the confrontation.
Chavez surrendered to deputy U.S. marshals in Mexico City last week.
Chavez is currently in the Denver County Jail and is being held without bond.
