Scott Brown was hired Tuesday to be Colorado State’s defensive line coach, the school said.

A native of Del Norte, Brown comes from the Duke staff that new CSU defensive coordinator Larry Kerr was on the past two seasons. Brown, 55, was defensive line coach at Duke for 12 seasons.

He has worked on the defensive side in stops at Minnesota, TCU and Southwest Texas State. He started coaching at Adams State after playing there as a linebacker and a defensive end.

Brown is the third assistant hired by new coach Steve Fairchild since he took over the program last Wednesday. In addition to hiring Kerr, Fairchild is retaining Marc Lubick, whose title will be determined.
