Scott Brown was hired today to be Colorado State’s defensive line coach, the school announced in a release.

A native of Del Notre, Brown comes over from the Duke staff that new CSU defensive coordinator Larry Kerr was on the past two seasons. Brown, 55, was defensive line coach at Duke for 12 seasons and has been coaching since 1976.

He has worked on the defensive side in stops at Minnesota, TCU and Southwest Texas State. He started coaching at Adams Stater after playing there as a linebacker and defensive end.

Brown is the third assistant hired by new coach Steve Fairchild since he took over the program Wednesday. In addition to hiring Kerr, Fairchild is retaining Marc Lubick, whose title will be determined.
