Thermal Advantage, a Thornton-based home-improvement products firm, is accused of deceiving Colorado consumers into believing they could get new windows by participating in a test program, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday by Attorney General John Suthers.

The suit alleges TA told consumers in advertisements that they would be compensated for the difference in heating costs if the new windows and doors it installed did not reduce energy bills by 40 percent. What buyers actually got was the difference in the BTUs used, not the difference in the bill, Suthers said.
