GOLDEN —Sheriff’s deputies say someone stole mail from at least 140 mailboxes in four Jefferson County mountain towns last weekend.
Officials are warning the incidents could lead to identity theft and advised victims to consider placing a freeze on their credit files.
Mail was stolen in Morrison, Evergreen, Conifer and Pine Junction. Piles of discarded mail were found along roads in Evergreen.
