200 projects and 100 plaid shirts later

Norm Abram is readying his 20th-anniversary season of “The New Yankee Workshop,” which will premiere on Rocky Mountain PBS in January. To commemorate the milestone, Abram will tackle one of his dream projects — a custom kitchen built entirely in his shop. Over a nine-episode run he will demonstrate how to build a typical base cabinet, must-have kitchen elements such as the island and pantry unit, and offer tips on the final installation process. With custom kitchens costing homeowners between $40,000 and $100,000, producers hope these shows will give viewers the know-how to build their own.

Grateful fundraiser

The Organic Center, a Boulder nonprofit that promotes organic farming, is selling a series of Jerry Garcia garden prints to fund consumer and environmental studies on the benefits of organic food and farming. The prints were made from original work by the late Grateful Dead guitarist. “Jerry always enjoyed drawing landscapes and creatures that live in the garden,” the musician’s widow, Deborah Koons Garcia, said in a statement. “We have chosen some of his finest works, some well known and others rarely seen, to offer through this project.” Prices range from $250 to $1,000.
